Great pics, thanks TV.  Not sure of the first one?

Its a pic looking up at the Rhein tower where some of the pics were taken from - but I've been lazy and not "rotated" it.

Ah!  I get it now.  S'easy when you know.

What was your favourite part, and what would you recommend?

If you have a head for heights then the Rhine tower is great for orientating yourself to the city.

The art gallery there is brilliant - Picasso's, Kandinsky's, Miro, Matisse.

The old town is full of nice restaurants and bars.

But my very favourite part was the Brauerie Schumaker which is a brewery but with the pub attached - and it is a great place to watch people, to drink and eat and generally have a great time. Very, very German!

Interesting fact

My Grandmothers (Oma's) maiden name is Dusseldorf. Her entire family tree is based in Dusseldorf. I have been there many times as a Child. Is there a restaurant at the top of the Rhein tower? Hey, but it is me. You are probably not interested.

Hi Ralph

There is a restaurant at the top - a revolving one, where we sat and had a Weiss beer and apple strudel (I know it should have been coffee - but I am not good with heights and needed a drink!)

Why you think I wouldn't be interested is beyond me - I try not to hold grudges - life's too short.

Anyway, had an interesting few days there - altho part of the reason for the visit was to see my partners cousin who lives near Remargen and who has been quite ill recently - but is much better now thankfully - so we didn't spend quite as much time in Dusseldorf as we would have liked.

The Rhein Tower is now on my list - that looks great!

Brilliant pics Trent! I like the look of that tower ... was it the one by your ear where you are standing by the river?

So where would you recommend to visit in Dusseldorf?
