Every-time the R&E board crashes it is suggested that the usual suspects/protagonists should visit this board instead.

The usual reason stated for not liking this board is: "because it's a mess" or "it's too difficult to navigate" or "there are too many sub-forums" and so on and so forth.

Anybody got any suggestions on how the board can be streamlined and made more 'user-friendly'?

(Now, I know another reason often sighted is that there is a "clash of personalities" shall we say - but what I'm hoping to read is...  what did they used to call it?

Oh yes; "Constructive Criticism" - if you have a personal beef with certain posters take it to the "bear-pit".

What I'm hoping to achieve here is a way to make the forum more accessible)!!

Apart from those who have sight problems, I am not sure why people complain about the layout of this forum, which I prefer to that of R&E.

Well my sight is fine but onscreen I find this relatively fiddly the plain fonts and relative quiet colours on religionethics are an easier read. Further as I've noted before it's much easier to navigate religionethics on a handheld.

That said it's a matter of personal preference in the main

The other aspect is for those of us who joined this board before the BBC closed, it was always too quiet and unfortunately remains so. religionethics ticks over faster and from my viewpoint has a wider spread of posters. This is all chicken and egg of course.

One thing I like on the religionethics board is the view new replies to your posts facility, don't seem to have that here

The
"view posts since last visit" facility is the nearest to it, but it's a tad unreliable.

I wish this forum was busier.

I don't like the statistics section of R&E, I really don't want to know how much time I have spent on that forum etc, it gives me a guilt trip!

It would also be nice if you could post links and pictures and have less spam, like this one

The other thing that would be useful is the facility to jump into a thread at the point you last read up to, on R&E that's done via the 'NEW' after the thread name. It's particularly useful when you've been away from a forum for a few days.

PS What's the difference between 'View newest post' (the link before the thread name) and 'View latest post' in the Last Post column?

That would be useful, but I don't think it's a feature enabled on this platform?

Ooh, I've just discovered "view posts since your last visit" on the left hand side above the forum index
