This weekend  [4-5 Oct] is the LDS Church's General Conference from Salt Lake City. Go to www.lds.org and click on General Conference. Then choose video or audio.

Saturday Morning Session 5 pm to 7 pm; Saturday Afternoon Session 9 pm to 11 pm.

Sunday times are the same.

If you have ever wondered what an LDS Conference is like now is your chance to find out.

Sorry. I have no real interest in the Church of the Latter Day Saints.

I wouldn't be interested, as I've spent a good deal of time talking with LDS missionaries and have read the Book of Mormon.

I do like your quote ED, as it says it all.  If God is for this, nothing will stop it.  But, I'm not sure how we judge success when it comes to matters of God.  Here in America, laizzes faire capitalism has been seemingly proven to be quite successful, making the world economy the richest we've ever known. . . that is until a few weeks ago.

One of my best friends at school was a Mormon (over from Salt Lake City for two years). It's hugely anecdotal of course, but he left me with a very favourable impression of Mormons.

The doctrine is all wonky of course ( ), but my only real experience of getting to know a Mormon was that he was a very fine person indeed; he was a calibre above most (actually all) of the boys I knew, and I'm sure that had a lot to do with his upbringing.

I have mormons in the family.
There was a branch of the family went out to Salt Lake City in the early 19th century.
One of them came over to the UK to meet me a few years back.

I agree with tmwmn ( ).  One of my favorite friends in high school was a Mormon.  And I worked with one who is still a good friend.  Very, very nice people, they are.

Mormons who have called at my door are a bit like pod people to me. There is an unnaturalness to their attitude.
