Free Pornography, Beer Tokens and full credit card details including security and PIN numbers.

Keira Knightley's personal email.

That'll do for now :)
Shaker

The first three no problem. Keira's e-mail is my business.
Thank you, the peanut gallery

We could run a monthly avatar competition - voted for by members?
jaqueline

some really good emoticons please
Lexilogio

Do they do an emoticon of a dummy being thrown out of a pram?

I need my whistling guy....
Dove

A good range of emoticons would be great. But we do also need to let admin get some food and sleep.
Lexilogio

Can't we just throw peanuts at him all night?

Yep, that'd work! And if does fall asleep there is always the whip. And finally........the comfy chair.
LornaDoone40

Maybe, but when he starts climbing up the tree and thumping his chest and shrieking 'oook', can I take pictures?

Yes - but I think at that point we would have to rename the place The Unseen University...

Just no one take a book without asking...

   Its the excitement JTM.

If Lexi is Sybill, then can whose going to be Sam Vimes... we need somebody suitably cynical, grumpy but noble....

And I'd like to be Adora Belle Dearheart.

You rang? :)

Or Steve would make an excellent Vimes, if he was here :(

And when I say Steve I mean sprocket/mouldy/horsfall ... though on reflection I think you described Shaker too

I want it!  I want it NOW!

And in keeping with that, I'd also like a ner, ner, na, ner ner type emoticon if there is such a thing.

And a 'speak to the elbow 'cos it's not worth the extension' emoticon, if there is such a thing.

And a child stamping its foot . . . and a sulking one . . . and a (ooops, you can see who is in a second childhood, or indeed, has never left the first one).  8)

IGNORE FACILITY

Would it be possible to have an 'ignore' facility?

A button to "Report this post"

Would it be possible to have a button on a thread to "Report This Post" to Admin or a Mod?

:-)
Lexilogio

That would be useful - if it's possible?
Shaker

I'm on it!
Shaft2101

Good idea Ketty, though methinks both the moderators swooped in and "rectified" 2 of the post/threads which warrant the use of such a button.

Would be very handy for the future though so we can respond quickly when it's not a Saturday night and we're all so sad (read "Broke") that we have nothing better to do than perpetually have the forums open

*Ket falls down in a dead faint from hero-worship*

Ahem, I currently have a very attractive (of course, she takes after her mother!) healthy (5' 6", size 10) unattached daughter with a 1:1 Hons who deserves a gorgeous man who is marriage material . . . the dowry is very generous; at least 3 camels and 6 cattle.  It would be at least 12 months before I expected to take delivery of my first grandchild.

Shaft2101

Pictures (both candid and glamour) and full health and academic certifications can be sent to the usual address :)

Dowry is negotiable ... as long as she has good child-bearing hips I'll add her to the harem ...
Farmer Geddon

Is there a facility where you can add under the username a "Find more posts by..."?

There is one on the profile page - but it would be nice to just click on one whilst on a thread instead of having to go to the profile.
Farmer Geddon

It would have to be at least 4 camels and 8 cattle if we are to take the offer on spec Ket ...

Well.....
Lexilogio

I'll take a look at the feasibility, Duck.
Lexilogio

Can't find anything atm.
foolfodder

Are you allowed to alter the templates for this forum? I know some PHP foo, so could probably fiddle with the templates if you wanted.

It should be pointed out though, that that might give me a huge amount of scope to generally bugger about with the system, depending on the forum software. (But I'm not evil so I wouldn't, honest.)
Lexilogio

Admin is the only person who can fiddle with the templates.

And I wouldn't dream of commenting on his fiddling ability.
Farmer Geddon

Admin - do you want to fiddle with my template?
Farmer Geddon

Did you find a way of adding more "Find more posts" button to the "Profile" "PM" "WWW" buttons at the bottom of the posts?

If you look up the members name in the memberlist third from left at top.
Then click on the members name. The above details will show up.

Under their name on the left hand side you will see as I have highlighted.

You can click on the name where displayed anywhere on the front page.
Just thought I would add that...   :P

Suggestion

What about a new 'room', suggested name 'The Boxing Ring' or 'Free For All'  or  'The Padded Cell'  (or something more witty) and confine/remove all squabbles and personal battles/moans to there (ie, those which have nothing to do with the threads where they sparked)?  Let people moan to their heart's content or slug it out, but have emergency First Aid on hand.  The rest of us can then look on in a rubber-necking kind of manner, join in, or choose to ignore and never visit.
Shaker

Hmmm ... well, it's certainly an interesting suggestion! As ever, I'd like to see everyone pile in on this one and give their opinion to see if there's enough support from the membership, and, if so, we'll run it up the flagpole and see who salutes it.
Conspiracist

I know I'm a recent arrival, but here's my two-penn'oth.

I think that it's a good idea.

Firstly, I support free speech and, however unedifying it may be to watch, squabbling falls under the general heading of "speech", so I think that it should be allowed. As board rules seem to say that it is not appropriate for this to happen in the existing fora, maybe it should have a forum of its own.

Secondly, it may act as a civilising influence, in that people who find that their threads are continually being dropped into the bear-pit may feel motivated to change their posting style.
Lexilogio

I guess my concern is that when insults are flying back and forth, that each will feel obliged to answer the other, and it becomes a vicious circle. If a thread just goes - then people have a chance to calm down and rethink.

But I'm open to others views on this.

I entirely see where you're coming from with this, but I think that if people are really determined to have a ding dong they will just carry it over on to other threads (cf the recent sweary debate, which meandered across the board a bit). Most of these things tend to just die the death of natural causes if they are left alone.
Farmer Geddon

"Mob Rule" - I'm game for it - sounds like it might be fun.....

If Lexi and shafty can be bothered to move the combatants into the ring of course...

I take it you are talking about yourself here Bob....

I agree with what conspiracist said.

This tedious and infantile tit for tat will pass just as soon as Rob stops bitching like a girl, LD stops insulting him and I stop agitating the situation.

I don't see it as 'insulting' - more antagonising..

Bob just wants you to be his bitch PtT
Farmer Geddon

Cummon Admin - now is the time to drop this into the "ring"... if you have one...

Though can I suggest you call it "The Pram" - with no-one putting the dummies back in??

Rob

........and how childish is that?

Resorting to Gifs to try and make postings humorous.

I actually think this idea may have some merit ... perhaps if we allow venting and bitching in a confined place it will save it having to seep in to the other sections ...

We could trial it for a while I suppose?

At the very least, I do get a perverse amusement from watching the bickering on this forum, so making it easy to find but non-disruptive is a win-win situation!
Farmer Geddon

TBH Gareth so do I  instigating it...
Ty_Webb

Any chance of getting a "view new posts" or "view posts since my last visit" link on every page? At the moment you have to go back to the main forum page to get to it.
LornaDoone40

That's not a bad idea - I always did like the 'Your Discussions' function on the Beeb board..

Probably something similar has been suggested at some time, but how about somewhere we can put our favourite (good, bad, or just insane) quotes or extracts from the CMB's  ?

Most frequently used, like Skilfools 'Where is the compelling evidence that .... the moon is real ?',for example ?

Stuff we can look at when we need a laugh ?

Cutting insults ?

Replies to cutting insults ...... ?

Even lists of homophobes or similar who should be in secure hospitals ?

Just stuff that wouldn't justify a thread and needs no discussion ?
Pukon_the_Treen

Could just make a thread for it in the 'Bear Pit'; our own version of 'Fundies say the darndest things'.

Is that so you read them back and give yourself a little cuddle about how clever you are?
Shaker

As it is we already have a (general) quotes thread, but I have to admit, I like the idea of our very own version of fstdt.com (a site which I used to love). Goodness knows, there are one or two over at the Beeb who would keep it going just about for ever.
all-in-a-flurry

I am wondering...

Is there a... 'view active topics' or 'view recent posts' button on this message board?

I can't find one and I think it would make the boards easier to navigate. I'm sorry if I'm missing something.

It might even make them more active  and encourage greater participation.
Ketty

Above right across the main blue menu bar there are a couple of links:
