Onetahuti

Greetings

A g'day from the land of sunshine, Australia.
Though I do not think of myself as I could be classed as senior in years, I am retired but not a stay at home and wonder how to fill in the hours of a day. I do voluntary work at a aged care facility (nursing home) on four afternoons per week in the activity area for the residents as well I am increasingly looking at taking on a pastoral role as I see a great need in that area which sadly is not being filled.
I am reasonably active in church life, I attend what could be described as a  large Pentecostal church that is undergoing many changes with the coming of a new head pastor. I believe in the teachings of the Bible and am happy to discuss all areas of faith.
God bless all who read this.

'Onetahuti' is the name of a wonderful part of the Lord's creation, a beach in the Abel Tasman National Park in the northern part of the South Island of New Zealand.

G'day Onetahuti.

One of my offspring obtained 'permanent residency' in Australia earlier this year.  To my utter delight I heard yesterday (Mothering Sunday in the UK) that they will be visiting me for three weeks at Christmas.

Welcome to NGL.  How did you find us?

Thankyou.

I saw mention of the nglreturns in a UK forum unrelated to Christian chat so being inquisitive I had to look. What part of the great land of Oz are they living in? I myself live in suburban Melbourne.

They're in Brissie, north of the river, about a 20 minute drive from the CBD.

I've just been speaking to them (literally) on Viber as they're travelling to work.  We're SO excited about being able to hug each other at Christmas.

When I was last in Bris, I visited an Evangelical/Pentecostal church - it was very lively.  Of course we all know about Hillsong and also the unfortunate incident re the Guglielmuccis.

NGL is a mix of people, some of faith and some not - hope you soon feel at home.
