How not to obey Christ's command to love - in one easy lesso

Powwow

Well perhaps she will put that cult behind her now. Being booted out of LDS can have it's upsides.
Women ordination? Well, did she really think she was going to change that church? There is no ordination of women in my church but that doesn't mean that the ladies can't have a ministry. They do, my cousin has had a ministry to women for many years.
So then we have the Roman and Orthodox Catholics that have had women with powerful ministries.
My very first pastors widow, she's 98yrs, and was my mom's best friend has had a ministry for over 70yrs. Well she can't exactly get around to speaking engagements anymore so her ministry now in it's final yrs has become a ministry to the fellow elderly Christians, a ministry of keeping in contact and prayer over the phone. She still makes it to church every Sunday, the church her husband , my dad and mom, and several others started in the 1940s.

My problem there is that, in the CofS (and the Baptist Union in Scotland) there have been women ministers and elders for many years now. Many female ministers I know are being used as evangelists. and the numbers of new believers, transformed lives, committed Christians, people finding roles for themselves through the ministry of such women, etc, would suggest that the office of female minister/elder is being blessed by the Holy Spirit.
I'm not going to argue with Him!

the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) sent Kelly an email yesterday informing her that she has been “excommunicated for conduct contrary to the laws and order of the LDS Church.” Kelly, who is also an international human rights lawyer, is reportedly no longer allowed to “take the sacrament, hold a Church calling, give a talk in Church, offer a public prayer in behalf of the class or congregation in a Church meeting, or vote in the sustaining of Church officers.”

Good!  The best thing that could have happened to her!   Let's now pray she leaves that cult and finds freedom in Christ Jesus.

Which Christians are you speaking about, the wheat Christians or the weed ones?

Well, since Christians obeying Christ's command to love without exception do not go in for the antichristian, hateful practice of 'disfellowshipping', your lot, not being considered Christian, are excluded from either camp.

Some have a funny idea of what is a Christian do they not?

1 Corinthians 5:11-13
But now I am writing you to stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do you not judge those inside,

while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked person from among yourselves.
Paul

As much as I think Mormonism is wrong I really don't see any problem with this. Should we have done the same to Arius, for instance? Presumably not according to Jim, unless this thread is specifically about womens ordination?
Jim

If a person is being used by the Holy Sprit, in His wisdom, to bring others to Christ, and accept Him as LORD and Saviour, then whatever we think of their ordination, whether male or female, matters not one whit!
Paul

I'm sure that's what Arius thought too.

But these people are not coming to faith in Arius, or any of the neo-Arian faiths.
They are coming to faith in God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, putting their lives in Christ, and living out the Gospel impperative.
That sounds like Christian in my book.

What teaching was this?

2 John 8-11
Look out for yourselves, so that you do not lose the things we have worked to produce, but that you may obtain a full reward.

Everyone who pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God.

The one who does remain in this teaching is the one who has both the Father and the Son.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him. 11 For the one who says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works.
