Life could be everywhere in the universe.

A recent mathematical analysis says that life as we know it is written into the laws of reality.  DNA is built from a set of twenty amino acids - the first ten of those can create simple prebiotic life, and now it seems that those ten are thermodynamically destined to occur wherever they can.

"The Bio Code" -Is Life Written Into the Laws of Physics?
Leonard James

Wow! Whoever created the physical certainly knew what he was doing!

Hopefully the next 20 years should go a long way towards looking at this theory. Now snow has been seen on Mars - we can investigate that area more for signs of life, and hopefully the new announced mission to the Jupiter region will take a closer look at the possibility of life on Europa.

Considering the evidence, I think most scientists would put money on there being bacterial life on Mars.

Discovery of microbes surviving without air beneath Antarctic strengthens hope of finding life on other planets.

Water has been detected on a Mars lander at -50.C, mixed with some anti-freeze chemicals. We have detected massive amounts of methane gassing off, notably in the warmer summer months of Mars (methane is a product of bacterial action) and there is no other known explanation for it.
