Offence/censorship/naked cowardice

Short version:

1. Maajid Nawaz is a liberal Muslim, a Liberal Democrat and candidate for MP.

2. A few days ago he tweeted an innocuous cartoon from the hugely popular (if you move in those circles) religious satire cartoon Jesus and Mo.

3. Because the strip features a very simply-drawn figure which purports to be Mohammed, this caused outrage amongst some sectors of the Muslim community.

4. Including death threats.

5. Channel 4 pick up on the story, but - and this is the either the best or the worst bit in my opinion - show this. I jesteth notteth:

Oh look! Mohammed has become a black Easter egg!

All the authors Jesus and Mo need to do,is think up a good caption to go with it.

Then market the t shirts.
I'm sure they will sell very well in some circles

Have C4 indicated that they have censored this image out of cowardice (i.e. because they are afraid of the consequences of showing the uncensored image) or have they censored this image because they are aware that it causes offence to some of their viewers and C4 wish to avoid doing that?

Being offended doesn't mean you're right.

I find faith schools offensive.

I never suggested that it does. Thanks for your opinion though.

Whatever you do don't criticise him. He will throw a tantrum and play his "uneducated" card (which entitles him to talk as much rubbish as he likes and not be criticised)

I wondered how long it would take for you to chirp up.

Is that why you call Christians 'cunts', because you don't like things being offensive?
