Spring is Sprung, beginning to at any rate.

Our snowdrops have flowered - a month later than last year.

The snowdrops down our lane are quite magnificent this year, albeit rather late. We even have a primrose out in the back garden.

It was bitterly cold today - and I regretted not taking gloves with us.

Yikes, just looked at the forecast for tonight. -28 wind chill -35. Won't stop me from taking a walk down through the valley though.

We had a cracking thunderstorm this lunchtime - one clap was incredibly loud and went on for a good minute. I think it hit the building. We all ducked!

I got absolutely drenched walking home from work today.  " alt="" border="0" />

The storm started 5 minutes after I left - and stopped within 10 minutes of me getting home. In the meantime it temporarily flooded out 4 streets.

A bit late in the day but last Friday evening there was a colossal thunderstorm here - thunder, lightning and a brief but incredibly violent hailstorm, one so intense that for a short time the hail lay so thick on the ground that it looked like snow. It has rained on and off since then, though not to the same extent: I very much doubt that Leicestershire's looming hosepipe ban will be thereby averted, though.

I woke up - and it was raining.

Never mind I thought - it will brighten up in the afternoon.....

Come lunchtime.... still raining. Tea time? Still raining. And now? It's still bloody raining

Thank you.

I feel better now
