My hobby is debating cosmology but the subject is full of big-bang parrots who are very vindictive and very nasty. It is difficult to get an intelligent debate going with them as though the big bang is speculation, they instinctively know it is all 100% true. Just like creationists.

My main hobby is playing Role-Playing Gamnes ( the tabletop variety, played with pen and paper and dice and imagination, not the computer ones).  Through that hobby I've been able to enjoy a great deal of creativity (as I write my own scenarios) and have met all of the friends i have.

I cna honestly say, for reasons I won't go into, that without my hobby and my friends by extension I would not be alive today.

So I very much am thankful for my hobby.

I remember playing a couple of dice based RPG's as a teenager. It was fun.

I did enjoy computer versions as a young adult - and my other half and I spent 3 weeks working our way through one together. But with 3 kids, I just don't have the time anymore - plus I'm not keen on the idea of online ones.

The current online ones are rubbish.  I'm signed up to the Lord of the Rings one, but it's largely a way to socialise with my sister (she loves it) rather than for any enjoyment derived from the game.

There have been very few acceptable computer game RPG's in recent years; nothing decent since Morrowind, Baldur's Gate and Torment.

Table-top RPG's I've played a bit of Call of Cthulhu (you'd never guess) as well as Vampire Masquerade and AD&D in my time.

Eeeeh, all you cool kids. I remember the good old days when an RPG was a rocket-propelled grenade. Youth today, etc. and so forth

Youth today?  LOL  I'm nearly 40 now and I still play RPG's.  Mostly Horror or fantasy (especially Steampunk fantasy, also known as Victoriana) but most genres are catered for.

Hmm, hobbies ...

(1) Poker of every variation and type (though, given I'm "semi-pro", I suppose it's almost more of a job than a hobby)

Like you I'll play anything.

NLHE MTTS are my main thing - B&M tournies give me better results than on-line but I do like to play either.

I have a regular Home Game that is a fairly good standard now but I can't seem to play cash and lets be honest PL Omaha is one sick bitch.

Other hobbies include American Football - although I have retired from playing now after many seasons getting throughly beaten up. Bit of a boring game to watch TBH.

Then apart from reading its a case of following my children's hobbies - two boys that play football pretty much all weekend. I love it though.

Hi Ambers, yes, we've talked about this before - me too. Though I can't say RPGs have saved my life, my life has been very positively enriched through playing them.

Where are you based?
