I was well dissapointed, it was good surf and they had been catching the bass there last week, the gulls were diving on me mark  at one point,  all the signs were there, then somehow or the other me spinner went for a spin on it's own and I had to make something up with a stone and a rubber eell, but still I felt good.
But nah, lifes a beach like you say  :smt046

Gor blimey mate there's been a few bass passed over the plate since I started this thread, and a few sole, plaice, etc etc
Missed the tide this weekend or I might have had something to put here.
It's been nice down the front though, locals getting a latte on the front before the grockels swamp the place, they already here in their coachloads bless 'em.

Got a new rod given me, can't remember it's make but its a three piece with a fair bit of flex and about two feet longer than me usual, it won't take more than a six ounce so I'm not sure that I will get on with it, and I do prefer a broomhandle with less flex so I can put in the umph and throw me back out

oh well back to biz bernie

You'll have to tell your fishing secrets, Bernie.

Oh no, now you've done it. Never.........ever ask an angler to tell you his fishing stories..........he'll tell you them till you lose the will to live!

Ah the one armed man who caught a fish this big. more a visual joke sorry

Cast out the other week and lost the whole bloody lot and was left with an empty spool, (wind assisted   ) the french owe me tackle.

But my best fishing tip is put some bait on the hook then put it in the water, sit in the chair and put the cap down over the eyes. oh and try and look nasty if a grockle's got you in his sights, or at least have a daft story to tell'em.

Example, ''do you catch any fish''
No I just like spending money on fishing gear, (don't bother with the teaching worms to swim one, they might believe you   )

Still waiting to beat me six pound bass, and 2 1/2 lb sole, mackeral might be in early this year so watch out for an early bass.

I've never been sea fishing. Plenty of lake fishing though. Lot's of perch, pike, perchpike. I've never weighed them and what we catch we eat (as long as they're big enough).

I've been mackeral fishing off the coast of Skye - caught a good load too, but that's going back a few years now. We were just fishing with a line with multiple hooks, straight into a school.
