No, I'm not shut away; on the contrary, but in Manchester it's been pretty dreadful. One or two nice days here and there, particularly in April, but as Lexi says, it's been damned chilly. On the whole it's been cold, overcast and drizzly with a stiff breeze for the last two months.

Sorry you two have missed out on the nice weather    I knew it hadn't been quite so dry ooop north but hadn't realized it had actually been chilly! It's been warm here in the day (in fact sometimes too hot to work in the garden) with cold nights ..... until this week that is. I was under the impression that the Midlands and Eastern England had also had the warm weather?

Or there again perhaps it's my pagan rituals that have kept this little bit of the Principality so favoured weather wise?

I could turn that around and suggest that your pagan rituals were leading to the failing of crops....

Our farmers are very happy

Nah can't take the blame for whats happening out East.   I did say 'my little  bit of the Principality'

Actual 'my little bit of the Principality' seems to be just my garden! After this little exchange on here I asked the people at the bus stop this morning and whilst they agreed it had been dry and sunny here ... they didn't agree with me on the warmth! Must be those high old hedges keeping me especially sheltered ... it's been up to 26C in the shade. The other thing why it seems so warm to me is the contrast .... it was frequently minus 7C  in my kitchen this last winter. Also whenever I leave the house it's usualy to go on a trek up the hill so I'd feel hot anyway.

So humble apologies to you and Pukon ... seems like it's me in the microclimate.  Feeling really silly now.

Lucky you. Mind you a few weeks ago we had two days of dry and fairly sunny weather, even if it wasn't especially warm, and I managed a bit of backpacking in the Peak District. I walked a bit of the Limestone Way, from Castleton to Matlock. That was pretty good.
