However it ends I bet it will have NOTHING to do with any 'supernatural' event.

This thread isn't really about the world ending in a supernatural event. It is about whether the Mayans predicted when it will end. If a natural or manmade event occurred on whatever-date-it-is 2012, as long as it destroyed the world than that would do nicely for the Mayan-prediction party.

Wasn't this Mayan end of the world stuff just something New Ager type people took on. When all it really meant was the end of one of the Mayan great ages?

Um I confess I did once buy a book written by one of those weirdos (well you know thought I'd better read up on it just in case )  and couldn't get through the first chapter. Either I was being thick or he was writing bollox I prefer to think it was the latter lol)

We live in a dangerous world ...... could end any time either by the hand of man or the hand of mother nature  and somebody somewhere will have predicted it!
My money is on the super volcano, Yellowstone, blowing at the same time as a great big enormous asteroid impacts the moon which comes showering down on top of us. And that's going to happen sometime within the next .... oh I don't know  ... sometime before the sun runs out of fuel in about 5 billion years time. But it could be next week!
