Sorry to butt in again gentlemen (assumption on my part), but according to The Boyg, I can't do anything right. If I'm here to answer posts, then he accuses me of not saving the 30,000 children who died again today, whilst being here. If I do answer posts he accuses me of "hit and run" tactics in not being here often enough to answer his posts!

I'm afraid I'm exceedingly underwhelemed by the difference without a distinction between God the father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. The Boyg is arguing that Christians don't refer to Jesus as "Father". Well perhaps The Boyg will forgive my interpretation, and experience, that plenty of Christians do exactly that! Perhaps The Boyg is the "one true Christian" to put us right? Shaker has given us the quote from John about Jesus and the father being one. A strict reading of the Bible would indeed have God the father, the Holy Ghost and Jesus as three different characters, but after the Councils of Nicaea in the 300s, the Trinity now promulgated by the RCC and The Boyg,  was accepted by the Roman Empire as the "official" version. It's almost as good as if the Leverson Enquiry today decided that Bonny Prince Charlie had used Flora MacDonald's brassierre in the recipe for Drambuie!

Completely worthless!

Never mind The Boyg, nit pick away, whilst your God does nothing! The poor old guy won't even stop the rain at Wimbledon! (But then rain has natural causes!)

This nonsense about the Trinity intrigues me.

Supposing we had an 11 headed god called Manchester United, but who also had equal but different parts called Rooney, Ferdinand, Scholes etc. But although the performers on the field answered in turn to their "father" Ferguson, they had forever to ask his forgiveness. Ferguson,  he one who knew all, saw all, and understood all, and gave the players a good bollocking if they lost.

And of course their eternal souls roasted / boiled in hell!

The Boyg will hopefully forgive my lack of theology? (It's okay I was only joking).

If it's as common as you claim then you won't mind providing verifiable examples of Christians referring to Jesus as "the Father", will you?

Yes Karl, it's called rank hypocrisy.

Why are you laughing at that? There is nothing in the name "Shaker" or a picture of a gaming die to indicate what sex you are. Are you a bloke?

SceptiKarl,

Although we think that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all aspects of one thing, we don;t refer to these apsects by each other's names.

I get that you think we should, but instead of saying this you have wrongly claimed that we do.

We don't call Jesus the Holy Spirit. We don't call God the Father Christ, etc etc. And we don't call Jesus Father.

Did you really think we did? Or were you just opening things up to make a point about how you think the Trinity is a bollocks idea? You didn't need to go to so much trouble. All non-Christians think it is bollocks!

There's no point in trying to explain. He simply sticks his fingers in his ears and refuses to accept what Christians tell him about their beliefs:

I look forward to him presenting the examples of the "plenty of Christians" who call Jesus "the Father".

I am sure that someone who prides himself as a sceptic will not shrink from evidence and reason, will he?
