Brilliant pics Trent! I like the look of that tower ... was it the one by your ear where you are standing by the river?

It was indeed. Him indoors keeps making me go up high buildings in an effort to cure my fear.

After 34 years I have news for him - IT HASN'T WORKED!

Mine keeps doing that to me, but as a girly it means I can cry as I crawl because I physically cannot walk with fear.

Interesting fact

My Grandmothers (Oma's) maiden name is Dusseldorf. Her entire family tree is based in Dusseldorf. I have been there many times as a Child. Is there a restaurant at the top of the Rhein tower? Hey, but it is me. You are probably not interested.

So where would you recommend to visit in Dusseldorf?

Sadly, very few. The last time I was there, for any length of time, I was 15 years old, 43 years ago. I don't think that the Rhien Towers was there then. I asked if there was a restaurant at the top because Cologne has a similar tower that has a rotating restaurant at the top. My grandmother moved there from Dusseldorf. Why I do not know as they are sworn enemies. Hey, but try walking around the Old Town (Altstadt), if you have money to spend then Konigsallee. Dusseldorf is known for fads and fashions. If you like peace and quite then the Wildpark is the place for you. Look out for the cartwheeling kids though.

Very Good Question. In the event that you might be interested. My dad was in the RAF during the war and was stationed in Wuppertal where he meet my mother, who was German. They ended up doing things that maybe they shouldn't have and ended up with my eldest brother. My dad, being a gentleman, who couldn't keep it in his trousers, brought her back to England where all the fun began. He effectively brought home the enemy, the Nazi, as they all called her, and we were the children of the Nazi. That was my dads families attitude to us as well. Even worse was we were the sons of the people who thrashed the Germans in the war whilst we were in Germany. Hence, good question, how come my parent came to England at such a precarious time in history. The positive was that we did not know about the discrimination until we were adults. I  think that the reaction was predictable and could never understand their naivety. Love, I guess.

That must have been difficult for them.

I agree, however, don't you think that they were a little irresponsible considering that we had just been at war with them and then my dad brings my mum into such a hostile environment. I still have a problem with it. We protect our children, don't we. We don't put them in harms way. Sad thing is that they both died very young so we could never ask why.

No, I don't think they were irresponsible. Love is so rare and so precious, that I don't think it should be tossed aside for society or duty.
