Do you believe the Genesis story as it's written in the bible, without all your fancy interpretations, allegories & justifications?

No.

Why don't you believe Genesis?

..as I said earlier. God, your brain is fucking slow, isn't it?

Are you pissed again?

No. I shalll spell it out for you.

You asked me why I don't believe in the literal truth of Genesis.

I said (obviously too obliquely for you to understand) that scientific evidence contradicts Genesis, and that is why I don't believe Genesis.

Do you understand? I'll run through that again for you:

I do not believe in the literal truth of Genesis because scientific evidence (like digging up dinosaurs) shows it to be untrue.

I know you struggle to keep up, but I should have thought even you could understand that.

I only asked because you tend to get abusive when you've had more than enough.

Do you believe the Virgin Birth?

Usually, yes: but my faith doesn't depend on it being true, and I do question it.

But whereas there is evidence which directly contradicts the events describes in Genesis, there is not evidence which driectly contradicts the Virgin Birth.

Of course, there is evidence that it is impossible, but that's not quite the same. In the case of Genesis we have hard evidence of what actually happened, not just evidence that the Bible version is implausible.

BTW, don't give up your day job - you're shit at psychology. I haven't been drunk in years.

Yeah, I believe you!

Do you believe in life after death? Do you believe you're going to heaven after you die?

So, sometimes you believe something that you also believe to be untrue?

No. Do learn to read, it's never too late.

Define 'heaven'.

Do you have a point, or are you just asking questions at random because you like feeling close to me?

You said your faith doesn't depend on truth, therefore, sometimes you believe an untruth.
I know you're a self proclaimed "highly intelligent man" & I'm just an old chippy but please can you explain how I'm misreading this?

The heaven as defined in the Bible.

No one is forcing you to answer my questions, feel free to stop whenever you want.

Could you find for me a definition of heaven in the Bible?

I didn't mention being forced. I didn't even complain. I simply asked you a question, which seems to be beyond you ability to answer. Never mind - expecting an answer to a question from you was obviously expecting too much. Never mind dear. You carry on, dear, and one day you might be able to make a point. Keep trying.

Do you have a reason for believing in life after death or is it just a hunch?

It seems to me likely that a lot of people genuinely believed that Jesus had risen from the dead. That gives me some hope in that regard.

Any chance of you having a point to make? Any chance of you answering my question about 'heaven' being defined in the Bible? Any chance of you showing us any evidence at all of a mind at work? So far, you are failing the Turing Test!

Do you take this as being evidence?

Haven't a clue. You're the expert, you tell me? I just assumed that heaven, being a religious thing, would be in the bible. Am I wrong?
