We'll have dogs and cats getting together next, that really will upset Kitty Galore !

Dogs, at times, try to mount cats ... though I don't know if they ever achieve it. My own dog has tried it, but now knows better than to try within my sight!

The breeder of our dog had a cat, and the puppies used to try and suckle from it, I don't think it was altogether keen on the idea, but had no fear of a houseful of german shepherds.

They can form very close relationships!

I know we used to have a Jack Russell when I was a child, and it hated cats until we got one and it got used to it.

They used to play together and sleep in the same basket, they even shared food.

But you do have to be careful when you introduce them as our last dog ( a golden retriever) who was really a big softy except when it came to prey, cornered and picked up the neighbours cat, in our garden and gave it a shake! He didn't bite it, but unfortunately it died of shock while being looked at by the vet!

Very upsetting for the neighbour!

We weren't very popular for a bit, but he was so quick, by the time I got there it was to late.

We have a neighbour now who has two long haired Siamese, that ignore the dog and have no fear, it has even come into the house while the dog is sleeping, so I shall have to watch the situation carefully, because I don't know what our 10 month old GSD would do.

Yes, indeed! I think the only safe option is to introduce them slowly, with the dog totally restrained, until it lerans to accept the proximity of the cat without attacking it.

Our situation was easier. We already had the cat when the dog was introduced as a puppy, so it actually grew up with her ... and we now have the strange situation that the cat wants to be in the dog's company and groom it, but the dog is not so keen and does his best to keep out of her way.

It is quite touching to see her go and try to lie down with the dog and he immediately gets up and moves away, and she follows him crying for him to let her be with him.

Two of our dogs are quite happy to groom both cats and the cats are happy to receive it.
The lazy little buggers don't reciprocate though!

How odd! Mine are the other way about. The cat is often licking the dog, but the dog seldom returns the compliment ... in fact he tries to avoid her if he can.

Did you enjoy the movie Luci? What was your favorite part? Did it come off as gay to you? Was there gay pride parades and flags in it? Was the guy cartoon characters doing it? Or were they just walking around in their mothers dresses?
