You mean apart from Paul, Peter, John, Jude....and a few select Roman historians?

Yes, I mean exactly those non-contemporaneous, non-eyewitness pseudo-sources many of which have been widely critiqued, challenged and denied by historians

It's the blasted United Nations, innit? All that hot air generated at the General Assembly's causing havoc with the quantum weather butterfly.

You certainly can't give any credence to what his disciples were supposed to have said. Which Roman historians have you in mind?

I would imagine that Jim was referring to Tacitus, Pliny and Suetonius, especially the first. Needless to say the references to an alleged Christ/Chrestus/Christians are extremely obscure, highly fragmentary, come long after the alleged events they purport to describe and have been severely questioned - at the very least - by later historians (i.e. proper ones).

In short, hearsay piled upon hearsay piled upon hearsay.

I was told a few years ago by a supposedly intelligent relative, by marriage, who, majored on religion, that the dead were being raised in Africa! When I asked why the media wasn't all over this incredible story, I was told by him, it was being kept under wraps as God preferred it that way! YEH RIGHT!

There's always a bias-confirming excuse of one sort or another

Well, that's the kind of stuff I deal with when I'm studying Egyptology - papyri written sometimes centuries after the event.
Lukily, though, the NT wasn't written centuries after the event. We have mid first century writings quoting the synoptics - and, only this year, this

came along - showing that most modern scholars are correct in assuming Mark at least was written before AD 90 - and if you accept the qQ gospel as an intermediate, that puts things well back even before Paul started writing his letters.

And I haven't even discussed the Resurrection tablet.

Is the world holding its breath in great expectation?

You would not be the reveille of secrets by any chance as spoken of here?

Daniel 12:4
.As for you, Daniel, keep the words secret, and seal up the book until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant.
