St Peter:  No, still no banana, keep trying though - full marks for being very trying.

There is nothing about secret passwords getting us 'to the other side' anywhere in the Bible.  The only pass into Heaven was paid for by the sacrificial blood of the Christ Jesus.  No secrets, no special words, no dodgy handshakes.

So you will have this super power, not needing a new name, etc, but your god will need to know your new name and your password in order to let you in?   It's a bit difficult for people to get into then, this 'other side' of yours Delly and Ralphs.

What they consider themselves to be means diddly squat.  Measurably, Biblically, they are not Christians, despite using the label.

Well, we will have to let God be the judge of that. It is my belief that if they live Christian values, preach Christian values, teach Christian values and follow the teaching of Christ then they are Christian.

Quote:
The problem is they are leading people away from finding Truth, and so those of us who are in Christ Jesus and who know better are charged with exposing their lies.

Absolute rubbish. We have been instructed not to Judge others. You are setting yourself up as a God. It is none of your business.

Many of the world's religions concur. That is sufficient. They can endure those who contend otherwise. Christianity is a lifestyle not a particular congregation. Those who live that lifestyle, the same lifestyle lived by the Saviour, and have been converted by the Holy Ghost, are Christians, whether you accept that definition or not.

Lots of obfuscating and straw men 'blah, blah', there Delly and Ralphs.  The only definition I accept is one that is Biblical - not one that is LDS KJV or contained in your extra-biblical add-on publications coming out of Utah and your false prophets.   I think if you've going to start going on and on along the same old same old, I'll just start resurrecting the many pages of evidence against you and the LDS false teaching, on this site alone.

There is not a single obfuscation and I have not constructed a single straw man to knock down. You don't actually know what a straw man is, do you Ketty?

Yesterday's news will just be ignored by me Ketty, along with your sedate threat of yesteryear. You know that. In order for me to be hurt, or effected, in anyway, by your threats and intimidations, i would first need to care about what you threaten to say. I don't, and judging by your last attempts at raising the past, neither does anybody else.

Christianity is a lifestyle, not a congregation of like minded people being told what to do and what to say. You are being selective with your bible and beliefs and cherry picking scriptures that are the best fit, then insisting that everyone else is in error. Even Satan thinks he is right. But all of this is bye the bye. You believe whatever you want. That is your perogative. You will be held accountable for your own sins, not mine. I can feel godly sorrow for you but I cannot make you see if you insist on wearing blindfolds. It is all down to your choice. I think that you are too indoctrinated for anybody on any of these forums to help you. Your demonstrations of selectively picking scriptures and ignoring other without really being aware of what you are doing indicates a very rigid conditioning. I feel sorry for you, but even that will be met with he'll fire and brimstone.

You seem to be having problems in comprehension. I never said that there was special words or dodgy hand shakes. I was asked what i thought was wrong in the mormon faith and I said that I disagreed with that idea. But you are wrong about scripture not mentioning a new name, probably because you have been told what scriptures say rather then reading it yourself.

Isaiah 62:2 The nations will see your vindication, and all kings ...
The nations will see your vindication, and all kings your glory; you will be
called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow. ...

Revelation 2:17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit ...
... the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new
name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. ...

I qualified this statement as opinion when I said "But, personally, I do not believe that we communicate in the same way, on the other side, as we do hear."

Yep.
There's the rub. Ketty - right there.
It's the spurious witterings and fakery of a fraud which are added to Scripture which ,distinguishes the LDS cult from Christianity in whichever form it is seen today.
Thosd
e extrabiblical witterings are antithetical to any Christian thought or, indeed, Scripture.
Not only that, the blatant lies, errors, falsehoods etc contained therin have nothing in common with the One who is the Way, The Truth and the Life.

That fails the LDS, not at the first hurdle, but before they get to the racecourse.

Your reasoning is subjective and your belief is bias, indoctrinated, almost anecdotal. Without using objective reasoning your opinion is without merit or authority. It is just your opinion, which is fine as long as you realise that.

If my reasoning is wrong, then so is that of every theologian, expert on Scriptural exegesiis, archaeologist, Egyptologist, and anyone with even the remotest amount of insight into the story of Smith the fraud.
I'm in good company.

Nobody said you did.  Although you have got to agree a dodgy handshake is an LDS thing.

Failed again Ralphs and Delly.  I did not say that.  If you think I did, please show me where ... Tell you what, I'm feeling generous today, so I'll save you time. I didn't say it.

You're welcome.

Ralph2 wrote:

I am very well aware of what the Scriptures say.

I think it's very clear indeed you do not read your LDS KJV Bible with any sort of intellectual understanding, but more especially without the help of the Holy Spirit.   There is NOTHING in the Bible (not even the LDS KJV) about passwords, nor dodgy handshakes, to get to your so-called 'other side'.   Nor is there anything in the Bible about needing a new name, even as a password, in order to get to your so-called 'other side'.

Christians spend eternity with the Lord by one means only - the spilt sacrificial blood of the Lamb of GOD.  No secret names, no passwords, no dodgy handshakes are required.

If LDS temples are handing out secret new names to be used as a password to get to 'the other side', then we already know they are seriously in error, but this is simply more evidence of that fact.   The Bible is clear what is in store for false teachers and preachers.

Revelation 2:17

And?  You've lost your own argument by using those scriptures.

Nothing there about requiring a new name, nor a password, nor a dodgy handshake in order to spend your eternity with the One true Lord God Almighty - you know the One: triune in nature - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

Oh, hang on, no you don't know the One - just an LDS type false god.

You may appear to use the same words as a Christian, but you and the LDS mean a whole new un-biblical add-on by using them.

Ralph2 wrote:

And?  Your opinion as you've expressed it is that you will have a super-power over and above that of your god.  Your opinion is not Biblical Ralphs and Delly.   That's fine.  You're allowed to have any opinion you want, it just doesn't fit in with the claims you make about your religiosity, that's all.  It's tangled webs, Ralphs and Delly, tangled webs of deception.

As Jim said, the LDS and currently yourself as a chucked-out-LDS, fail at the first hurdle.    [/i]

Why not, being a Jew and therefore one of the 'chosen people' 'sons of God' turned out naff, so go with whatever floats your boat, incidentally even Noah had his problems with his offspring.

Best listen to oneself and take it on the chin.

How can being self proclaimed be enough? I'm thinking of that lady who claims to be black but her parents are white. And Jim Jones and Hitler were self proclaimed.
