Hi Jimmy

Glad to see you got here.
Dicky

P.S.
realgonecat (Jimmy Davies) is certainly known to Leonard and myself from way back. Pukon and a few others may remember him. I particularly remember his verbal fisticuffs with a certain stiff-necked catholic (quite a few of us have done the rounds with that one).

Jimmy combines his erudition and eloquence with an easy folksy manner, so I hope he'll stop by now and then.

Wow! Jimmy Davies ... that's almost ancient history!

I loved to read his posts ... always down to the point and straightforward.

If it's you, Jimmy, welcome man, and get posting!

Another poster I miss from the old days is Yvonne Strong. A very well-informed and intelligent lady who I would love to read again.

Well, I now suspect that Jimmy's visits may be rather infrequent, since he seems to have fallen out with Shaker in a big way on the Simplemachines R&E forum (where he is known as Buckskin). Even more astounding is the fact that he seems to have developed a very cosy relationship with BashfulAnthony - which is the most unlikely meeting of minds ever, I'd have thought.

Well, maybe I've been mistaken about BashfulAnthony* - or maybe I've been mistaken about both of them.

Dicky

P.S. Since BA has managed to piss off some of my most admired posters, including JeremyP and Pukon, not to mention Shaker himself, I suspect this is unlikely.

Jimmy seems to have taken it into his head, goodness only knows why, that he has been banned or blocked from this forum, despite the fact that his membership is listed as active, as it has been since his account was activated on the 22nd of June. He hasn't been banned or blocked so I've no idea why he claims to be unable to access the site: I've looked into it time and time again and everything is fine from our end. What the problem is I haven't a clue, but the account was activated, he's listed as an active member and as far as I'm concerned that's all there is to it.

Shaker
I thought I'd read over on the other forum that he'd realised that he'd been putting in the wrong password or something?
