"Touch me not..." (John 20:17)
Mary Magdalen meets the risen Christ.

It is not you.
You were never so clear
Though I, never so dull, so spent.

It is not you
Here, where you cannot be.
The hair isn’t right, the
Clothes, the incomprehensible,
Inexcusable radiance
At this moment, of all moments.

Where leaving was not foreseen;
You have left me, lost.
It is not you—who mocks grief and takes
My best, my only consolation.

The stance is different,
The words, impossible:
So much like your words

The Melismos (Christ as the 'Lamb of God')

A common image of Jesus from the 12th century onwards, the Melismos shows Christ as the "lamb of God", an infant laying on the paten where the bread is consecrated during the Divine Liturgy.

Quote:
Broken and distributed is the Lamb of God; broken yet not divided; forever eaten yet never consumed, but sanctifying those who partake thereof.

Quote:
He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
In His humiliation His justice was denied Him,
Who will declare His generation?

(Is 53:7-8, as quoted in Acts 8:32-33)

It is common to images of that time and location, whether Christian or not.
