I am conscious that I don't say "hi" to people or engage in friendly small talk.

I am aware this could come across as curt or even rude.

By way of explanation, if not excuse, several of you know I had a stroke last year.  I have recenty discovered that some of my Cognitive Executive Functions remain impaired.

Please dont think I don't appreciate your comments, or that I am a right grump.  I just don't do "chat".

So apologies again - and realise I am smiling most of my time here.

I don't think anybody thought that in the slightest, old fruit, but the message is very sweet and shows you care

Bless you Miles - never thought otherwise, and like wise, the smile is always reciprocated.

I had not thought for one moment that you were being rude. I find your posts as interesting, and provoking, as they were prior to your stroke.

I would also add that when we heard about your stroke - we were all very concerned, and sincerely hope that you are, and continue to be, much better.

Miles, no, I didn't know you'd had a stroke.

Thank you ((( Miles ))) for wanting to explain . . . I had wondered and was a little concerned, for you, at your unusual appearance of grumpiness.    Now I understand.  The fact you want to explain is proof enough that you're still the lovely Miles of whom I was previously so fond.

Oh, so sorry to hear about your stroke and your personality, well, its not grumpy but reminds me of someone thorough but not offensive.

I hadn't noticed old horse; I'm not the most garrulous individual myself.

Would you like to rephrase that?
