We have had dogs for many years in the family, mostly minature daschunds, smooth reds and black/tan long-haired. My last dog was a dachie cross (mother dachie/father unknown possible Alsation-according to the vet) black and tan and sort of medium size, unfortunately I had to have him put to sleep last year - I still miss him.

Currently I have two cats, aged 13 and 12, but Rob isn't a cat person really, but he knew he had to accept them with me. I have a ginger one, a proper ginger cat, male and very bossy to the other one, a small black and white female. All our animals have been rescued ones, although the black cat was found as a semi-wild kitten and just adopted us and the dog. The 'ginger thing' as he is sometimes called, arrived as a kitten that was no longer wanted. At first he was terrified of the dog and other cat, but soon settled to rule the roost.

My daughter L only has a Dalmation cross now and a large fat black and white cat, her other two dogs both Labrador crosses had to be put to sleep recently :(

My other daughter R has had two cats, but they both had to be put to sleep over the last year as well.

Once my cats have died, I am not getting any more pets as I can't stand the stress of when they get ill or old and I have to make that horrible decision.

I will ask Rob to find some pics to post.

Rob took the pics when the cats finally were allowed outside in their new home, this would be about February, which is why the garden looks very untidy.

The ginger one (Timmy) was quite surprised to find a pond, and when he first met a frog I just wish I had had a video cam as it was hilarious. Spock likes to be either high on a shed or garage roof or squashed up next to the chicken. She has taken to scaling the gazebo at the bottom of the garden in an attempt to climb the beech trees.
