...for the Sake of Our Religion

Can't make up my mind if this reminds me of a Nuremberg Rally or a bunch of football supporters taunting the opposition... what do you think?

And they used to be such an enlightened religion, responsible for preserving much of the science, medicine and knowledge of Greece and Rome from the ignorance of Medieval Christian Europe. They now seem happy to let their religion turn them into little more than a bunch of aggressive, frightened, paranoid thugs.

Did you watch the video, Pukon?

Islam is often more than a religion - it is politics. This is the Ayatollah exhorting the people to continue to demonstrate for more political freedom and political change.

It is essentially crowd control. You see it at demonstrations - anywhere where there is a large crowd.

Although to my knowledge, this was what was so surprising about the uprisings in Cairo (not Alexandria though), that there didn't seem to be the big crowd exhorting speeches. Mind you - no one showed what went on in the Mosques.

This why I like the Memri site: http://www.memritv.org/content/en/all_clips/0/0/0/63/0/index.htm

It at least shows what state television was broadcasting at the time...

It's the first time I've seen that site - how did you come across it?
